I am no scholar of Islam. I just do my research and listen to khutbahs
/ Islamic sermons done by credible scholars. I only compiled them
and present the topic in an easy to understand manner. |

Judgement
Day 28 Mar 10
My
brothers and sisters in Islam, the reason why a Muslim, the one
that testify that "There is no god but God and Muhammad (saw)
is His messenger", and yet still does not perform the prayer,
still drink alcohol, still gamble, engage in interest etc. is because
of low in iman (faith). And
I still remember the reason I started to be a praying Muslim was
not because I read about solah and its benefits but rather spending
hours listening to lectures on the Unseen; Paradise, Hell, Heareafter…
|
| |
| |
| |
| My
brothers and sisters in Islam, there is an upcoming event that
Allah warned in the Quran in almost every single surah. An event
that he mentioned not in hundreds but thousands of verses. This
inevitable event is Al-Qiyamah (The Resurrection ) also known
as Judgement day.
To
bring attention to the believer, Allah gives the Day numerous
names in the Quran. Among the names are Al Qariah (The Striking
Hour), Ad-Din (The Recompense), Yaumul Hasrah (The Day of Regret).
|
| |
|
| |
| If there
is no Judgement Day, then where is the justice of Allah? Most people
commit crimes; cheat while doing business, backbite, fornicate,
commit adultery, oppress because they believe that they will not
be accountable. “As long as the law does not catch up with
me I’m safe. I can cheat anybody I want. I can do any immoral
deed to satisfy my desires.” And some people think that death
is an escape. The disbeliever can do as much corruption on this
earth and when he dies and escapes the law, the masses see him as
somebody who got away. No, the truth is, everybody will be resurrected
from their graves and be made to gather and stand before Allah to
be judge for their actions. |
| |
|
| |
| And
what about the Muslim who fasts, who performs his prayers and does
regular charity… shouldn’t he/she be rewarded? |
| |

| Judgement
Day starts with the blowing of the horn by the angel Israfil. It
is stated in a hadith that the angel Israfil have not blinked his
eyes since he was created, out of fear that Allah’s commandment
would come at any time and because of this, his eyes have become
like glazed pearls… like glass.
When the horn is blown, every living being
in this world will perish. Even the Angel of Death will die. And
when there is no more living beings, Allah will ask a question:
“To whom belongs the kingdom this day?” And finding
no one to respond to him, He will respond; It is Allah's, the
One, the Almighty.” On that day, Allah will destroy everything
and substituted it for a flat piece of land.
Allah will resurrect mankind on the 2nd
blow of the horn. All of mankind from Adam to the last man, will
be resurrected simultaneously- utter chaos, complete confusion!
On that day man will be naked, barefoot and uncircumcised!
|
| |
|
| |
| Allah
will not start judging mankind and everybody will be waiting with
extreme fear and anxiety. Everybody will be thirsty, hungry and
exhausted. The stress of just waiting gets to such a level that
people wants Allah to start judging even if it means they will go
to Hell. But NO ONE will dare to speak to Allah because of our sins..
So what do we do? The entire mankind will go to Adam (as). |
| |
They
will go to Adam (as) and say, |
|
| |
Adam
(as) replied:
I ate from the tree! I can’t! Nafsi! Nafsi! (Myself ! Myself!)
Go to Nuh (as)!
And everybody will go to Nuh (as) and Nuh
(as) will say:
I made a doa against my people. I wasn’t patient enough
with them so I made a dua against them. Nafsi Nafsi! (Myself !Myself!)
Go to Ibrahim (as)!
Everybody goes to Ibrahim (as) and he said:
I told 3 lies during my lifetime! Nafsi Nafsi! (Myself Myself!)
Go to Musa (as)!
Everybody goes to Musa (as):
I killed someone in my life! (Myself! Myself!) Go to Isa (as)!
Isa (as) says “Myself! Myself!”
without explaining any reason and we’ll all go to Muhammad
(saw). And Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) will reply, “That’s
for me. That’s for me.”
Allah finally starts the process and Hell
is brought near for all of us to see. Hell is passionately angry
at us for disobeying Allah to such an extent that angels are pulling
it back from us.
The Mizan (the scales) is brought forth.
Your bad are going to be placed on one side of the scale and the
other side your hasanat (good deeds.) Every deed will not be missed
and everybody will be treated justly.
|
| |

The
Mizan (Scales or Balance) |
| |
| There
will be a stage and Allah will call each of us... However, He will
treat the righteous Muslim and the disbeliever, hypocrites, polytheists
etc. differently.
If you are a true Muslim,
Allah will bring you close to Him and He would hide you from everyone.
Allah keeps the meeting private. And Allah will say “My
slave, remember that day you commit this sin? Remember that day
you did this evil deed? The believer will admit to everyone of
the sinful deeds and Allah will say, “Does anyone knew of
these sins that you committed?” And the slave will respond
“No!” Allah replies “ I hide your sins for you
from the people in the past and I will hide it from them today.
Go ahead. I am the Most Generous! I am Most Merciful! Proceed
to paradise!”
On the other hand,
for the disbeliever, hypocrites, evil person.. Your meeting with
Allah is for all to see. Every evil deed you‘ve done will
be exposed. Allah will say “You did this! Are you not concern
about Me? You did this!” If that is the way Allah speaks
to you on Judgement Day, know that you are Hell bound and what
an evil destination that is!
Then after all is done,
all of us will cross this bridge call the sirat. Jannah (paradise)
is at the other end of the bridge while Hell is underneath the
bridge. The disbeliever, hypocrite, polytheist, evil person will
try to cross the bridge but they will eventually fail and fall
into the Hell whose fuel is men and stones!
|
| |
|
| |
For
the righteous Muslim who strives hard to keep to his deen, he will
be able to cross successfully. According to their level of iman,
some Muslims will cross as fast as lightning, some like a strong
wind, some like a horse, some running…
My brothers and sisters in Islam, we have heard of these suras before
and it is not something new to us. But what have we done to prepare
for it? Even though finding rezki is totally halal, we should not
be too engross with the pursuit of wealth. Because eventually every
one of us WILL die and WE WILL meet Allah. Know that this life is
not our final goal, Jannah is.
Look at the plight of the ummah today.
We say we are Muslims and yet we don’t pray. Nobody wants
to go to Hell, yet we don’t have the patience to gain Islamic
knowledge. We are shy in doing sins in front of our parents but
we do every sin imaginable in front of Allah.
May Allah give us good in this world and
good in the Hereafter and protect us from the punishment of the
Fire. Amin!
How’s your iman now?
Brother Zul
