Happeepill on Uweekly! :D Courtesy by Tysha Khan

A few weeks ago, Happeepill.com was mentioned on Uweekly magazine! Yeah! If you guys don’t know what a Uweekly is.. its one of those publications from SPH (where else -_-) and it’s like a Chinese version of 8 days. A Happeepill hardcore fan by the name of Tysha Khan showed a Happeepill cartoon to her journalist friend, Jinhua Kuek , and after a couple of drinks, digital camera and good old blackmail, Jinhua finally agreed to post a short blurb of Happeepill on the mag! Since then, I have received tons of emails in Mandarin from fans as far as China! Ok, maybe not.. Hee.

Uweekly Magazine

My sister bought the mag and scan through the pages.
She found the small blurb on page 73. :D

Uweekly MagazineI don’t know how to read Mandarin but I think it says something like: “33 year old Malay man, make Flash cartoon but still suck at Math.” Yeah.. that sounds about right. :D

Translation

Anyway, I wanna thank Tysha for her marketing, PR effort and Jinhua for wrestling with his Uweekly editor and making Happeepill newsworthy enough to appear on the mag. :D I hereby declare Tysha my new official Happeepill Marketing Agent. You see how I did that? I just trapped one Happeepill fan and gave her a new responsibility just by sheer mind screw. :D

Jokes aside, Tysha actually caught my attention on Twitter. The stuff she writes never fails to crack me up.

Evil Bunny!

PS: For those of you who got to know this site via Uweekly mag, I just wanna say “Wo Ai Ni.” and “Ni how ma?” :D Ok, I am out of Mandarin. That is the only 2 sentences I know.

This is my first comment here and I had bookmarked your page since… erm… I think is like during GE period. And I am always checking your site almost daily.

I am a Chinese Singaporean and non-Muslim, but I can even enjoy your postings on Islamic teachings like Naf. Yes, I do read and understand them, even though I am a free thinker; or should I say, I worship money god? :P

I am glad that EB get the attention from the mag. But I would like to point out: you should bump that song (Can I have your number?) onto the front page. This song is not that new, and it is hard to find for new comers to your site. I know this because I do have a hard time trying to understand your site navigational system. I came here due to NS song, and from there, I had also discovered many gems like Happeepill Shows. The bad taste parts are those flash whacking teachers, etc. A bit too grossed for my likings.

    Thank you very much, EB!

      Hi Reveille,

Thanks for your comments. It’s good to know that you like reading my stuff even the Islamic articles. It’s just to show how non-Muslims can be tolerant. Anyway, I have been taught that if you are not my brother in Islam, you are my brother in humanity and we are all from the children of Adam. :)

“this because I do have a hard time trying to understand your site navigational system.”
I totally agree with you. One of the reasons I did not choose WordPress when I started out is because of the lack of control. The old Happeepill site which was done from scratch had better navigation. However, WordPress has so many other perks that I had no choice but to transfer. And so far I’m loving it.

To make it easier, I did create buttons on the top bar and that is immediately updated once any new content is posted. And once I set up the login system, I intend to mass email everyone, once a new cartoon is completed, like how I have done in the past :) I think it’s a matter of getting use to the new site.

Another thing is, I don’t wanna post the “Can I have your number” on the front page because veteran Happeepill fans have seen it and they don’t wanna see anything stale. Once my freelance project is done, God willing, I will post a new cartoon right smack in the front, nobody can miss it :D

“The bad taste parts are those flash whacking teachers, etc. A bit too grossed for my likings.”
You don’t like Punish to Purify?! A lot of fans LOVE Punish to Purify! It’s alright, to each his own :D

      Happeepills for Happee fans,
      Evil Bunny!

        Thanks for the reply.

Fair enough, I do understand that you are treating newbies and veterans as equal by not jumping onto the bandwagon to do short term advertising without much thoughts. It does feel good that you know what you want to achieve for the future. ^.^

I look forward to more funny content! :D
