Illusionist 12

I watched this movie on a plane, going to... eerrrr..... you'll find out soon enough. The movie played on one of those small screens stuck to the seats. As I was exhausted, I watched it half way, dozed off and watched the remaining part of it. But this movie still deserved a thumbs up. Then again, maybe my judgement is skewed because Edward Norton stars in this movie; I'm an Ed Norton fan! Basically this movie tells of a beautifool love story (so beautiful, I almost hope that it would happen to me.) about a poor boy and a rich, atas girl. Sounds like a boring sappy, thumbs down storyline but hold on; poor boy knows unrealistic magic and that makes the whole thing worth watching. The magic tricks can be far-fetch at times- I nearly burst out laughing at one particular trick. What were they thinking?! But you gotta love the way these actors/actress speaks with an old English accent. The movie did a "Shyamalan" which means there's a twisted ending. The sort of ending that you want to rewind and catch all the clues... like in 6th Sense. If you wanna compare Prestige (another movie about magicians with unrealistic magic tricks), I would choose to watch the Illusionist; no doubt about it. Favourite
