Sherlock Holmes 05 Jan 10

I didn't plan to watch this movie actually. I decided to take a day off working on Happeepill and I had to see a movie. So I went to the theater and looked at the list. I am not going to pay good money to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks. And there's no way I'm gonna watch "It's Complicated"; too old people falling in love again.. what's so complicated about that?!

Ok let's get on with the review. The thing I like about Sherlock Holmes is when they portrayed Sherlock boy as a very detailed and eccentric person compared to the usual Sherlock we usually see in books who is more like a nerdy intellectual. In this movie, he would study everything before he gets into a fight and he have the knack to analyse and study a person just by looking at him. Not bad eh? :)

How bloody ever, the thing that spoiled the whole show is when they used this old English type of language that I can barely comprehend. Although I understand the need for this old skool type of Englash.. because the story is in the drinking-tea, ride-horse-carriages kind of era... but the language they speak is on another level of annoyance. And to make matters worse, the actors spoke really fast. I bet some white people watching the movie also catch no ball.

It got so bad that if I see Sherlock boy crying.. that means something is wrong. And if he laughs, then, it means good news. By the time half of the movie was done, I was more engross with my snacks than the movie.. and kinda regretted not buying a cup of soft drink.. The popcorn was already eaten and I had nothing to do.

Upside:
Some scenes about Sherlock being meticulous.

Downside:
English so cheem you can't understand what they are trying to say. Trying to read facial expressions.
